Thanksgiving plans

Well, Derek and I are heading to my parents tonight. We have to pack up and load the dogs in the car...then we're off. A lot of people who meet at Boyce are from all over the country and while that may be exciting for some, I am pretty thankful that our parents are within a few hours drive. I don't think I would be too excited about having to dish out lots of money for gas or a plane ticket...even though I love them. Anyway, when we are done at my parents we're coming back to Louisville for a day. The we have to pack up and load the dogs again and we're off to Owensboro Friday night to see Derek's family.

Things I am thankful for this year: my husband who keeps me on track and loves me even at my worste, not having as much money as I want (I think it changes people and not always for the best), friends who don't forget, my family, especially my mom who helps keep me sane, my education and the means to be educated, how good I have it (even though sometimes life is tough), Derek's job, you and many many more.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!

First Blog...

Well this is officially my first blog. I thought I would set this thing up because I enjoy looking at other people so much. Derek and I don't have tons of stuff going on in our lives, but I guess it would be nice to inform you of what is happening. We are just about done with our semester (thankfully). We are working on a few last minute papers and have one more final to take online. I'm not going to lie, this semester about did us in. I don't know why it was so hard, but we both struggled to make it to the end.

I am getting really excited about staring nursing. Right now I am in an MNA/CNA class and will be testing December 6 to become certified for that. This class is just one of a long list of things I have to complete before actually starting "Nursing School." I really think I am going to like that nursing is all about facts. I won't have to bull crap my way through papers with crazy page requirements every week. I'll either know what I am studying, or I wont.

Derek has been working almost full time lately. We both really enjoy bankers hours. It's so convenient to have him home at night, especially when I am used to him working until almost 2am sometimes. That was not fun. He says he feels professional, which is a good thing for him if you know him. I think he enjoys putting on a shirt and tie every morning and going off to work.

The dogs are fine...quite frankly they drive me insane and it's no secret. They are constantly yipping and barking at each other and every little noise they hear. Ernie looks like a raggle muffin with his hair every where. Derek doesn't like to get him groomed as often as I would like cause he thinks he looks too cute with his hair EVERYWHERE. Needless to say, he has an appointment with the groomer December 8th. Take that Derek. Buster has had a little ear infection for a while now. Derek and I started putting this cream in there and it's getting a lot better. These pics are a before and after shot of Ernie and Busters makeshift (sock) bandage.

I guess that all the goings ons I have to talk about right now. I am very excited to take on this blogging, but am scared that I might come to the realization that we're not quite as fun as I thought we were.
